I welcomed September in an Airbnb patio in Winslow, AZ. The stillness of the town in the morning is something I had not experienced before. The only noise that I could hear was the cars passing by the freeway every fifteen minutes. Winslow is one of those places that you visit once in a lifetime, that once in my lifetime happened to be the way I said goodbye to August and welcomed in September.
The next week and a half brought forth birthdays. With my mom’s, mine, and my brother’s birthdays all within a week of each other, there was a lot of cake (or pie). This year was different than years past. It was the first year I did not live with my family and my mom’s first year working. It felt a bit strange, but we still spent some time together.
Within that week and a half, my sister and I started buying our fall and Halloween decorations. I am beyond excited to complete buying all the pieces I want. This is the first year I will be able to decorate my apartment for fall and I could not be happier. Since I still have not bought a lot of decorations, the aesthetic I could end up with is still not decided. My sister went all black for Halloween. Needless to say, my mom was not the happiest. I know we started early, but at least I did not actually put them up, unlike my sister. Fall is my favorite season, and since fall doesn’t start here until the end of October, I might as well make it feel like fall at home.
I finally started work, and so far so good. I hope that it continues to stay that way and that it doesn’t interfere with my school work. School is also going pretty well. I was a bit overwhelmed with all the work at the beginning of the month, but I finally have a flow. I should be fine until midterms/finals for my online classes, which is in about two weeks.
There are still a couple of more exciting things coming up before September is over. I know there is still a week left of September, but I have not done a life update like this before so I was eager to post this one. I hope the remaining of your September brings you new opportunities and adventures. May all of your manifestations finally come to life!
